Welcome to our Blog!
Four weeks ago, we did our Marathon Kids. We ran around the yard and carpark three times in the first week, four times in the second week, five times in the third week and six this week. Our class is going to participate in a marathon in Santry Stadium in November. We will run 1 mile, or 1500m.
We did our assembly performance in September, about discrimination in democracy. We had different parts to do: discrimination in South Africa (apartheid), the UK (the suffragettes), the USA (civil rights movement), Germany (discrimination against Jews). In the picture, Zudayze was acting as Martin Luther King Jr. when he was making his 'I have a Dream' speech. In the second picture, Sean, Erik and Viki are acting as a Jewish family. When we took a bus to the Science Gallery to learn about Space, we saw Marioworms, lava art, one of the rooms showed the room of an Irish woman that simulated Mars and many other things. Helen's uncle talked to us about his job, his workplace in NASA and he taught us about Space. We talked to him on Skype. We started to ride bikes. We had two teachers: Shane and Mick. We were learning about bike safety. It was 15 euro. All the people who were trying out for School Garden Committee went to the garden and went on a kind of a test to see if they were suitable for the committee. In the photo, Zudayze is moving a pumpkin in a wheelbarrow to put into the shed to ripen them for Halloween. Last week, we did Bizworld. All the four groups in our class made up a logo and slogan for our company: Shooting Stars, Wildest Dreams, HPA and Happy Homes. We all made prototypes and sold a percentage of our company to the Dragons (investors from Bank of Ireland and Helena). We learned about teamwork and making products and presentations. 4th class also came to the hall and gave us bizbucks to invest in the company.
