The Forest and Garden School
By Helen and Rihanna This year Helen and Rihanna { the Forest and Garden School representatives for fifth class}did lots of work in their Geodome. In Term Three Helen and Rihanna have planted courgettes, fennel, cucumbers, peas, rhubarb, tomatoes, potatoes, strawberries and carrots. Outside the school they also have a pergola, roses, jasmine and honeysuckle are all growing up it.By next year they hope it has grown all the way. In their Geodome they have a wild flower bed, it was very beautiful but the poppies had over grown, so they had no choice but to cut it down. Last year the Forest and Garden school planted tomatoes, it was a great harvest. This year we have planted tomatoes and they are still waiting for them to go ripe because they are still green. It is a very exciting. Nearly every morning Helen and Rihanna go down to the Geodome to water the plants and harvest some strawberries! Very recently Lousie has harvested some of the potatoes! They are going to boil them and roast them very soon! Hopefully next year we will harvest the aubergine and chillies as they have only planted them this term. Not only have the Forest and Garden school have been working at the Geodome they’ve planted flowers at the car park. They have planted flowers like sweet peas and sunflowers and more. The car park looks beautiful with all of the flowers and plants that they have planted in the car park. The school has lots of grass around it, but they only cut some of the grass so there are lots of flowers growing all around the school. Next year will be another exciting year for the Geodome and the school, well hopefully anyway. By Helen and Rihanna
