Welcome to our Blog!
Ukulele lessons In our Ukulele lesson,we learned how to play the song “ hey jude” and also we learned “riptide”. Fergus taught us. He was very good at it and he is brilliant at teaching as well. In this picture, you can see our classmates warming up to play the ukulele and you could also see half of Fergus in background. In this picture we are listening to the one, the only, Fergus!. He was telling us that he was going to China for a concert, and that he wouldn't come to our school for three weeks and that another “professional” would come in, his name was Andy. He was really funny but he wasn't as good as us.(obviously,no one can beat us, including Fergus).HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOYED.

Recycling Week, Junk Art day On the 16th of November it was Junk Art Day. Many students brought in junk art to school for the competition. Every student had the option to compete. And every student who competed made a unique piece of junk art. We had stuff like robots, monsters, boats, trains & lots more. Here is a photo of all the children in Alder Class who competed. All of the green schools were involved in the judging. By: Sebastian & Anisa Get on your dancing/running shoes!
This Friday will be our first Fit Friday of the year. As part of our Active Flag application parents are invited to stay on yard every Friday to take part in a whole school dance/exercise session! The fun will begin at 8.30 and run until about 8.45. Hope you can make it! #BeActive Toys and Bake Sale Items needed for our Winter Fair!
We will have a toy and baked goods table for sale at the fair. If any parents have old toys that are in good condition that they would like to donate they can do so on Thursday, December 6th. Parents who would like to donate baked goods for the bake sale can drop these into the school on the morning of the Winter fair, Friday, December 7th. The PTA and the pupils of Powerstown ETNS are delighted to announce that our annual School Art Exhibition will be on display in our hall this Friday, December 7th 2018!
The theme of this year’s exhibition is ‘Winter Fun’. The artwork will be beautifully finished, professionally framed and catalogued for display in the school. As well as a great artistic event we are using the exhibition as a fundraiser to help to reduce the cost of swimming lessons for all the families in the school. The pictures are great value at only €12 each, if you buy a second picture it will cost €10, if you buy a third it will cost €9.50. The framed print copies of the originals would make a lovely present, will be available to view on Wednesday December 5th and you can purchase them during the Winter Fair this Friday 7th December. We look forward to seeing everyone there but if you can’t make it & would like to have your child’s picture, send the money in before exhibition day and we will arrange delivery. Art is an area that every child enjoys and the exhibition will be a big social event in the life of the school this year, so please come along, (support our fundraiser) and admire the work of all our talented children!
